Question Of The Day: What is your favorite way to organize your Evernote notes?

What is your favorite way to organize your Evernote notes?

There are many ways to organise Evernote notes. The beauty is that there is no right or wrong way. It is what works best for you.

All you need to start is:

  • A few important Notebooks
  • Tags
  • Set reminders

I organise my notes in the following manner.

My [default] note is called !Inbox so that it acts much in the same way as an email inbox. This is my main collection point.

I then sort through and filter notes and information to the following main notebooks: (more…)

What does Evernote cost?

Is Evernote For Free?

What does Evernote cost?  Is Evernote For Free?

The good news is Evernote is free in the Evernote Basic plan.  On the other hand Evernote Plus and Evernote Premium do attract a subscription however the benefits and features are definitely worth it.

While I personally use Evernote Premium, meaning that I have full access to all its features, I strongly recommend that you consider your needs before choosing a plan.

If you are unsure of which plan to choose I always suggest to look at your personal and/or work related needs.  If your needs are to better organise yourself then the Basic plan is ideal.  If  you find that you are uploading more and more content and have a need to send important emails into Evernote then the Plus plan is best.  The Premium plan offers everything from the Basic and Plus plans and then some. Taking Note – A Podcast By Evernote Episode 2. A Conversation with Guy Kawasaki.

This Is What I Learned

After a very informative and enjoyable episode #1 of Evernote’s Taking Note podcast I was looking forward to the next instalment.  As a recap, this is what I learned from episode #1.

Episode #2 started with Evernote company updates from the CEO, Chris O’Neil as well as from their Vice President of Operations and their Design Manager followed by featured guest, Guy Kawasaki.  I was aware of Guy Kawasaki but to be honest I did not really know that much about him so this podcast was a great opportunity to find out more.

This is what I learned about the Evernote company updates.

Taking Note – A Podcast By Evernote Episode 1. A Conversation With Michael Hyatt.

This Is What I Learned

The start of every new year is always a special and exciting time with lots of things to do, plans to make and goals to achieve.  It was also an exciting time this new year to hear that Evernote were rekindling their podcast again after what seemed like forever since they last uploaded one.

I have recently started to download and listen to more and more podcasts lately so Evernote’s new podcast was a warm welcome.

Taking Note a podcast by Evernote is described by the iTunes Podcast store as being presented by the leader in note taking and productivity.  Taking Note dives into the realms of personal and professional achievement, entrepreneurship and creative thinking.  They will interview experts and trailblazers, uncovering great ideas and best practices to help organise your work and declutter your life.

Episode #1 featured Michael Hyatt of – talking about taking control of your goals in 2017.  I have been following Michael Hyatt for a while now and as Michael is an Evernote power user I knew this would be worth listening to.

This is what I learned: (more…)

Crush It! Why Now Is The Time To Cash In On Your Passion. (Harper Studio, 2009)

The title in itself is enough to make you stop and pick the book up.  What grabbed my attention, besides the great big green CRUSH IT! title, was the sub-heading about Why Now Is The Time To Cash In On Your Passion.

I had, for a long time, thought how great life would be if you could do something for the rest of your life that revolves around your passion.  In reading the jacket cover, I bought the book.

Crush It!

Gary Vaynerchuk writes in a very conversational way, almost as if you are at a bar having a drink with him.  This style of story telling really works.

Gary recounts his story and what worked for him when he turned his family wine business into a multi million dollar business with the aid of online and social media.  From this, Gary developed his personal brand which is one of the main underlying themes of the book.

Gary’s advice?

  • Build your personal brand
  • Create good content
  • Choose your platform
  • Keep it real and authentic
  • Build your community

Perhaps the biggest lesson he shares is to Care.  The checklist in appendix: a is one that you will want to learn, memorise, action, rinse and repeat…over and over again.

Crush It!  A quick and easy read to make you start thinking about the rest of your life.

Living Forward: A Proven Plan to Stop Drifting and Get the Life You Want (Baker Books, 2016)

One of the books I am currently reading is  best seller from Michael Hyatt of and Daniel Harkavy, titled Living Forward.

While the title was enough to grab my attention, the sub title, “A proven plan to stop drifting and get the life you want” resonated with me as I had been giving this subject quite a lot of thought recently.  I had to buy the book.

While I am only part way through the book it so far promises to guide me through a step by step process to understand:

  • our wants and needs
  • how to create a plan with clarity; and
  • how to implement what you have learned about yourself to make it happen

Living Forward

There is nothing worse than not being in control of your own life.  Living Forward promises to help you acknowledge the drift in your life and to help you regain control and direction.

Living Forward, so far so great!
